Blue Sky are a charity and social enterprise, operating as a commercially competitive alternative to High Street agencies, we offer paid jobs, training, housing support and mentoring to ex-offenders to reduce re-offending. In the words of David Cameron we are “the only company in the UK where you need a criminal record to work there”.

Established for over 11 years, we have placed over 1350 ex-offenders into employment and our award-winning approach has enabled us to achieve our ultimate aim to keep ex-offenders in work and out of prison by helping them find onward employment and gain greater control over their lives.

We operate 3 commercial models to create jobs:

• Blue Sky Agency: placing staff in industries such as grounds maintenance, waste management, manufacturing and distribution, work alongside clients’ employees, with the companies gaining an embedded social value / responsibility within their core services.
• Blue Sky Services: Directly delivering grounds maintenance, recycling, and other services to councils, private companies and householders on a fixed price quote arrangement.
• Blue Sky Brokerage: Providing a direct recruitment service into employment, matching skills to the role requirements. A new area of work for us, driven by the increased need of our clients for ways to fill their vacancies.
