Business Club breakfast date for your diaries:
DATE: Thursday 22 March 2018
TIME: 08.00 – 09.30hrs (coffee and tea from 07.45hrs)
GUEST SPEAKER: Stephen Hammond, MP
Stephen is a London MP for neighbouring Wimbledon and a former UK government minister having held ministerial positions in Transport and Communities & Local Government.
His career prior to entering politics was in the finance industry including with a leading fund management house and major investment banks.
From our Business Club perspective, Stephen is our first outspoken pro-Remain guest speaker. It will be interesting to hear his views on UK business leading up to and post Brexit and in particular what he considers the impact to be for us Londoners.
One of his main passions as an MP is to “help small businesses thrive” which he recognises are “at the heart of our local economy and are responsible for nearly half the job creation in the UK.” Support for his own local SMEs, in particular, the tech sector, is core to his values and commitment as an MP.
Stephen is a keen sportsman. He played hockey at county level and now plays veterans hockey for Wimbledon. Watch out for that lethal stick!
VENUE: The Doubletree by Hilton hotel, Ealing Common W5 3HN
It is a pleasure once again to be hosted and sponsored by our good friends at the Doubletree.
Andrew Thomson, the GM, joined us at the last breakfast meeting in December and pledged the hotel’s continuing support not only for the Business Club but also for our local business community.
The Doubletree is already a favourite with some of our members who use it to host seminars for corporate clients and for community information sessions.
Andrew and his team are generous and flexible with charity and fund-raising events, which some of us with community and charity links have benefited from enormously.
There is parking at the hotel which is free for Business Club members on validation of their parking ticket.
As always, do let me know if you would like to attend the breakfast event.
